forward Mykhaylo Mudryk didn’t take kindly to criticism online, mocking one Instagram user for some unwanted ‘advice’ on his game.
The 22-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge in January in a deal which could amount to £89m with add-ons, although Mudryk will have to do a lot more with the Blues if those additional payments are to materialise.
It was a slow start to life in the after arriving from Shakhtar, failing to score in his first 17 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.
It was a very turbulent time at the club, playing firstly under and then , so the Ukrainian will hope to find some stability and form under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Mudryk will be happy if he doesn’t have any further unsolicited advice online, though, such as this piece of criticism from one person on Instagram.
A reply to a recent post from Mudryk read: ‘Bro learn to make 360 turns with the ball it will help u change direction and be unpredictable.
‘Running with the ball in one direction isn’t good enough. Clue.’
Questioning the ‘fan’s’ qualifications for handing out such advice, Mudryk replied: ‘Why you are didn’t win Balon d’Or yet?’ [sic].
Pochettino says he has already spoken with Mudryk and will set out a plan for him to get to the standards which were hoped of him when Chelsea splashed the cash in January.
‘We were talking with Mudryk,’ said the new Blues boss. ‘I’m going to meet him before he comes to start pre-season, because he was in the Under-21 Euros and will join us when we fly to America.
‘I really like to see and to know him to try to decide with the staff the best strategy to help him to be at the level that I think Chelsea when they signed him expected him to be.’
