’s celebration after scoring for at was a tribute to his friend and Middlesbrough striker Morgan Rogers, he revealed after the match.
The Blues beat the Hatters 3-2 at Kenilworth Road, with Palmer netting twice, either side of a goal.
Those three goals put the visitors 3-0 ahead before the home side made it very nervy for the Blues at the death, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men got over the line.
Palmer was the star of the show with his two efforts and showed off a goal celebration which saw him rub his arms as if he was feeling a bit chilly.
Asked about it after the contest, Palmer told TNT Sports that his pal Rogers had used the celebration after scoring for Boro recently and he told him he would do the same when he next got a chance.
‘My boy Morgz did one for Middlesbrough, so I told him I’d do it,’ said the England international.
Rogers and Palmer spent time together at the Manchester City academy before they both left for their current clubs on permanent moves over the summer.
The 21-year-old took his tally to eight Premier League goals in 16 outings this season for Chelsea and Pochettino is unsurprisingly thrilled with the summer signing.
‘It’s obvious he’s an important and decisive player,’ said the Blues boss. ‘Scoring goals like this, I am so pleased for him and for the team.’
