are no closer to signing England star , chairman and co-owner Steve Parish has revealed.
Following his heroic performances at , transfer interest in Guehi is extremely high with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United linked with the defender.
Newcastle are the only club to have made a move for him however, recently submitting a third bid for the Palace star worth an initial £55million, with £5m in add-ons.
Though this falls short of the Eagles’ £70m valuation of the 24-year-old, they are said to be mulling over the offer as Guehi is reportedly interested in the move and has been reluctant to sign a new deal with his current contract up in 2026.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Tuesday, Parish did not rule out the transfer but stated it was a long way off: ‘Nobody has got to the valuation yet. If you want a superstar player you need to pay superstar money.
‘We’re nowhere near the point where we have to make a decision. We’ll cross that bridge if we get to it.
‘We love having him and would love to keep him. If we start the season with him we’ll be a better team no doubt. He’s a generational talent.
‘Everybody’s wishes need to be taken into account. If someone else wants to have him they need to make it really difficult for us and at the moment that’s not the situation we’re in.’
Parish went onto add that Guehi himself has not asked to leave Selhurst Park: ‘Marc is absolutely loyal to Crystal Palace. Marc wants to progress his career, of course he does.
‘If the right opportunity is there and it’s right for us, it’s something we might be interested in. But he’s certainly not putting any pressure on the club whatsoever.’
Guehi signed from Chelsea in 2021 for £18m, with the Blues made from a sale.
The centre-back has so far made 111 appearances for the South Londoners and was arguably England’s best player at this summer’s Euros.
Should he be sold, it is said or Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix to replace him.
