Former Tottenham striker and supporter Darren Bent has brutally mocked a Spurs fan over Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.

Bent had a two-year spell at Tottenham between 2007 and 2009 but the 38-year-old has made it clear that his loyalties are with the red side of north .

Spurs finished above Arsenal last season, with ’s side securing fourth and a spot in the 2022-23 .

They have enjoyed a productive summer off the pitch, bringing in free agents Perisic and Forster as well as Djed Spence from Middlesbrough, Richarlison for £60m, Yves Bissouma for £35m and Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona.

Perisic, 33, arrives with heaps of experience having won the Bundesliga with both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich and also lifted the Champions League with the latter.

He can operate as a winger or wing-back on the left and also won Serie A in Italy under Conte at Inter Milan and was a World Cup runner-up with Croatia in 2018.

England international Forster, meanwhile, will serve as a back-up goalkeeper to Hugo Lloris and the 34-year-old has plenty of Premier League experience.

Forster spent a large part of his career with Southampton in the top-flight but also is heavily associated with Celtic where he won four Scottish league titles.

Former Tottenham striker Bent, though, appears not to rate their deals for Perisic and Forster when irked by a Spurs fan over Arsenal’s £45m move for Gabriel Jesus.

‘I like what Arsenal are doing in this transfer window,’ Bent posted on Twitter alongside a GIF.

A Spurs fan wrote back: ‘Yep signing players that don’t even get on [Manchester] City’s first team. Just good mates with [Mikel] Arteta.’

Bent responded: ‘You signed Perisic and Forster and threw an open top parade.’

Tottenham’s first game of the new Premier League season comes on August 6 when they host Southampton while Arsenal travel to face Crystal Palace on August 5 with the first north London derby coming on October 1 at the Emirates.
