David De Gea has wished ‘two special guys’ and Jesse Lingard all the best in the rest of their careers after the pair’s exit from was confirmed.
The duo are set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the month when their contracts expire.
Lingard and Pogba came through United’s academy together, though the Frenchman left for four years in 2012 before returning for £89m in 2016.
De Gea has been a team-mate alongside both players since his arrival from in 2011 and he says they helped create ‘amazing memories’ at Old Trafford.
‘Two special guys and characters, they gave so much to this football club,’ said De Gea.
‘We have so many teammates in this sport, we achieved a lot together and created amazing memories.
‘I hope you both get everything you wish for in the future ❤️.’
Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani, Lee Grant and Nemanja Matic will allow follow Pogba and Lingard out of the exit door.
Erik ten Hag had a final say on the departure of Mata, who was open to staying at Old Trafford.
