David Seaman has backed to turn around his dismal start to life at Chelsea, suggesting that the Ukrainian winger looks like a ‘proper player.’

Chelsea in last season’s January transfer window, beating Seaman’s former club  to his signature after the north  club had also shown interest in the pacy winger.

Mudryk, however, has failed to live up to expectations and justify his price tag so far at Stamford Bridge and is yet to score in 20 Premier League appearances for the club.

The 22-year-old has started just one game in the league under new Blues manager  but the Arsenal legend believes the Ukrainian has what it takes to succeed at the club.

‘I’m sure that we are going to see a lot more from Mudryk,’ he said speaking on his YouTube channel.

‘He looks a proper player – the touches and especially the turn of pace that he’s got as well. A [run of form for him] is just waiting to happen for him.’

Mudryk started his first game of the season for Chelsea at the weekend against Aston Villa. He failed to make an impact before he was taken off after 60 minutes following a red card for right-back Malo Gusto.

Chelsea would eventually fall to a disappointing 1-0 defeat, courtesy of Ollie Watkins’ 73rd-minute strike to further heap the pressure on Pochettino’s side who are yet to win a game or score a goal in September.

The Blues have picked up just one win so far this season – a 3-0 victory over Luton Town – but Seaman still believes that the Argentine is the right man to lead Chelsea forward.

‘It’s not Pochettino [who is the problem]. If they get rid of him I will be well happy, because Chelsea will be right out of it,’ he added.

‘The longer he stays, the better they will get. There is no doubt about that. They are a young squad that’s been forced on him a little bit, I think.

‘But they are going to come good. Arsenal have them in a couple of weeks and they need to get three points while they can because they are going to get better, there is no doubt.’
