Didi Hamann has given Arsenal hope in the title race as they look to overtake and land their first trophy in 19 years.

The Gunners are one point behind ’s side and have just three fixtures left as they take on Brighton, and Wolves.

City, champions in four of the last five seasons, have a game in hand and are due to face Everton, Chelsea, Brighton and Brentford.

Arsenal won at third-placed Newcastle last time out while City may become distracted by their Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid, with the Manchester club hosting the second leg after Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park.

Speaking about City’s upcoming clash at Everton, Hamann told : ‘Well, if they don’t win away to Everton, and if they do make changes, I think it’ll be a tough game.

‘I can see Everton getting something out of it. What they did against Brighton was brilliant on Monday.

‘We know Goodison Park will be bouncing, it’s a very hostile atmosphere and it will be on Saturday.

‘I don’t think Manchester City will win away to Everton on Saturday, and if they don’t, then I think we have a title race again, because if they do draw and Arsenal win, then it’s only one defeat stopping Arsenal from potentially winning the title.

‘I don’t expect Arsenal to win the title in the end, but I certainly think it’s possible we’ve got a much closer title race again from Sunday night.

‘I think Everton will get something out of the game, which will be enough to make it a one game swing.

‘Arsenal will be ahead with one more game played, if they do win at home to Brighton.’

Arsenal duo that the north London club are ready to pounce if the leaders slip up.
