Former star Bastian Schweinsteiger believes would be the perfect signing for the German champions and has encouraged the striker to move to Bavaria.
The England captain has entered the final year of his contract with Spurs and is reportedly the subject of an £86million offer from Bayern, with Thomas Tuchel eager to lure the forward to the Allianz Arena – .
Tottenham, though, are willing to resist all offers for their talisman – a stance which saw Manchester United move onto other targets – while the north Londoners even hope to .
Schweinsteiger is still hopeful Bayern can manage to prise Kane away from Spurs and is convinced they are a perfect match for each other, though he fears the Bundesliga giants will ultimately be priced out of a move.
Asked if Kane is the missing piece to take Bayern back to Champions League glory, Schweinsteiger told on Thursday: ‘Yes, 100 per cent.
‘Bayern is looking for a striker, a forward, a proper striker like Robert Lewandowski. Eric Choupo-Moting is not good enough for Bayern Munich, he is more the ‘B’ solution.
‘Bayern Munich, of course, would like to sign Harry Kane, but I also know that Bayern is not a club who will pay as much money as maybe the owner of Tottenham is asking for!
‘So there will be one guy [at Bayern] who puts the fist on the table and says, “No, we are not paying so much” but they’re looking for a striker, that’s for sure.’
Asked if Kane is tailor-made for the Bundesliga, Schweinsteiger continued: ‘He looks like a German almost with his blonde hair! Yeah definitely, I think it would be a great fit.
‘Also for him, he has to ask himself, does he want to win a title in his life and his career as a football player? Like a championship or a Champions League.
‘I know he’s a person who likes to have his family and friends around him, and Munich is the best place for it. You have a beautiful area around where you can live, where your family can grow up, it’s safe.
‘Also the experience abroad, which I had when I went to Manchester United, helped me a lot and I grew as a person as well.
‘And of course, as a football player, he would have a very good team around him and a very good coach. So a lot of things are speaking for that.’
Although Tottenham endured a disappointing season, finishing eighth in the Premier League and missing out on a place in Europe, Kane enjoyed an excellent individual campaign and netted 30 times – second only to Erling Haaland.
