Donny van de Beek issues statement on his Man Utd future

has provided on update on his future and has suggested that he may look to leave in the January transfer window.

Van de Beek has since made two appearances for United this season, though, playing a total of 21 minutes – with 19 of those coming in the Carabao Cup.

The Dutchman has tumbled down the pecking order at Old Trafford, even more so following the summer arrivals of Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat.

He has now suggested that he may look to leave in January and said: ‘I need to play on regular basis… if not at Man United, it will be at another club.

‘It’s a healthy ambition. I’m absolutely crazy about football. I make a good living at Man United, but money has never been my motivation.’

Van de Beek joined United for £34.6m plus £4.4m in add-ons from Ajax in 2020 but he has largely struggled, with just two goals and two assists in 62 games.

United but a deal fell through.

The 26-year-old spent time on loan at Everton in the 2021-22 season but failed to impress during his stint at Goodison Park.

Van de Beek, who was also linked to Fenerbahce and Galatasaray in the summer, is under contract at United until the summer of 2025.
