has been named among the substitutes for ’s clash with Bournemouth with back in the side.

win over Chelsea after a disappointing display against Newcastle United last weekend.

Ten Hag later suggested his omission was down to squad rotation, with Martial also benched for the 2-1 win over the Blues.

Rashford missed training on Friday through illness and was considered a major doubt for the visit of the Cherries this afternoon but does make the squad for the clash at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag made two changes to the team that beat Chelsea with Martial returning to the side to spearhead the attack. Rasmus Hojlund drops out of the team.

The United boss acknowledged Martial’s poor performance against Newcastle but said in his pre-match interview the forward is ready for his ‘opportunity.’

‘Rasmus Hojlund played a lot of games, and there are many games to play as well,’ ten Hag told MUTV. ‘But also, to give Anthony Martial the opportunity. He played very good against Everton, less good against Newcastle but he also has to prove it every day.’

Raphael Varane is once again on the bench with Victor Lindelof ruled out.

Speaking at a press conference earlier on Friday, Erik ten Hag challenged his forward to follow the examples set by Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, two players who have firmly forced their way back into the first-team after difficult spells.

‘So Rashford is an incredible, good player,’ said Ten Hag.

‘You can’t do it with 11 players, he can’t play every game, he’s not in this moment in the form he was last year but I am sure he will get there.

‘What I said about Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire: up to them. The team will always line themselves up and the best players who form the best team will play.’
