United have been depleted by injuries this season, and 11 players were absent for Monday night’s 2-0 win against Wigan in the FA Cup.

Anthony Martial has missed the last four weeks through illness and Ten Hag would like to sign an experienced striker to take the burden off Hojlund’s shoulders.

And the Dutchman has admitted he will consider loan signings this month to strengthen his squad.

‘We consider everything,’ said Ten Hag, when asked about loan signings.

‘So what are the best interests of the players and also the best interests for us, the team, for .

‘So we’ll see how we progress during the window.’

United had been linked to former Chelsea striker Timo Werner, who returned to RB Leipzig after two years at Stamford Bridge.

However, the German arrived in London last night to complete a medical at Spurs.

The 27-year-old will join on loan for the remainder of the season and Tottenham have an option to buy for around £15m.
