have built a pre-match lounge for and his squad at Old Trafford after the Dutchman demanded a custom-built area at the Theatre of Dreams.
The Dutchman broke with tradition last season by getting his players to arrive at Old Trafford up to four hours before kick-off.
Under and , United tended to stay at the nearby Lowry Hotel the night before matches before making their way to the stadium two hours before kick-off.
Ten Hag wants his players to spend the night before matches with their families, but demands they arrive at the Theatre of Dreams with plenty of time before kick-off in order to have a pre-match meal and to go through tactics.
This was done in a hospitality suite last season, but Ten Hag wanted a custom-built area where he can deliver team talks and go through key details.
Solskjaer and Mourinho were keen to have the same, but United were unwilling to permanently give up one of their hospitality lounges as they are highly profitable throughout the season and cater for the most affluent match-goers.
But the Athletic say United have caved to Ten Hag’s demands, in a sign of his influence at the club.
Over the summer, one of the lounges has been fully converted to an area in which Ten Hag can home his players before matches.
It’s seen as a significant moment in United’s return to a ‘football-first’ model, having previously been criticised for prioritising non-football matters at the club.
