Europa League group-stage draw: Man Utd face Real Sociedad and Arsenal take on PSV

The draw for the group stages of the has been completed, with facing Real Sociedad while will go up against PSV Eindhoven.

The Gunners have been drawn into Group A along with PSV, Bodo/Glimt and FC Zurich.

In Group E alongside Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils are Real Sociedad, Sheriff Tiraspol and Omonia.

Last season, United got to the Round of 16 in the Champions League, where they were eliminated by .

Arsenal, meanwhile, return to European competition after missing out on playing in Europe completely last season.

Last season’s winners of the competition, Eintracht Frankfurt, are in the Champions League group stages having earned qualification via their win in the final over Rangers in May.

The draw in full for the 2022/23 Europa League group stages is as follows:

The first round of matches will take place on Thursday, September 8, with all six group stage rounds taking place on Thursdays and following the Champions League schedule.

Group winners will advance straight into the Round of 16, whilst the group runners-up will enter the play-off knockout round to face the Champions League sides who finished third in their groups.

The group stages will be completed by Thursday, November 3, with the draw for the play-off knockout round taking place on Monday, November 7.

The final of the competition takes place on May 31st at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
