Arsenal lost to in the all-London final in 2019, whilst United were beaten in a mammoth penalty shootout to Spanish side Villarreal in 2021.

Here is what you need to know about Manchester United and Arsenal’s participation in this season’s Europa League.

Who do Manchester United play in the Europa League?

Manchester United begin their Europa League campaign on Thursday, September 8 at 8pm.

United will host Spanish side Real Sociedad at Old Trafford on matchday one.

They then face a trip to Eastern Europe to face Moldovan Champions FC Sheriff on September 15.

United will be on the road once again when they travel to Cyprus to face Omonia on October 6.

Who do Arsenal play in the Europa League?

Arsenal start the Europa League group stage with an away day in Switzerland to take on Swiss Super League side FC Zurich on Thursday, September 8 at 5.45pm.

Arsenal will return to London on September 15 to face PSV, who dropped down to the Europa League after being in the Champions League play-off round.

The Gunners will be on hosting duties once again, with Norwegians Bodo/Glimt making the journey to the Emirates on October 6.

How to watch the Europa League on TV

The Europa League will once again be shown live on BT Sport, who have exclusive rights to this year’s competition in the UK.

Fans will be able to keep up to date with the action as it happens by tuning into The Goals Show on BT, which will show all of the important moments from across the Europa League and Conference League.

Viewers who haven’t got access to BT Sport will be able to  for £25, with BT broadband not required to watch the action on BT’s app and web player.

 to BT Sport starts from £16 a month, with a package containing BT, Sky, and Eurosport available for £41 a month.

Highlights of the Europa League will be shown for free on BT Sport’s YouTube channel.
