boss should have been sent off before full-time during Sunday’s tense derby with Tottenham, says former referee Peter Walton.

Spurs twice came from behind in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge which was overshadowed by repeated clashes between Tuchel and Spurs head coach , who were both shown red cards after squaring up at full-time when they went to shake hands.

But former Premier League referee Walton has explained that Tuchel should have been dismissed well before the ugly scenes at full-time due to his antics when Chelsea took a 2-1 lead on 77 minutes through Reece James.

‘Thomas Tuchel was fortunate to be on the touchline at full-time,’ Walton told .

‘His celebration for Chelsea’s second goal, where he sprinted down the touchline, blatantly broke the rules against staff leaving the technical area.

‘The German had already been cautioned for his clash with Conte after Tottenham’s first equaliser, and could have easily been booked again here.’

.

Meanwhile, after the Blues’ draw with Tottenham, with the German suggesting Anthony Taylor should stop refereeing Chelsea games.

Tuchel was furious at various incidents, including Tottenham’s Cristian Romero escaping punishment despite grabbing Marc Cucurella’s hair.

‘He did have a case with his complaints over Cristian Romero’s hair-pull on Marc Cucurella,’ Walton added.

‘Pulling hair is violent conduct and Spurs were lucky that VAR did not instruct Anthony Taylor to go to the pitchside monitor.

‘For me, there was enough force for an offence. Romero and Cucurella were clearly tussling from a corner once it had been taken, so the Tottenham Hotspur man was tugging hair once the ball was in play.

‘Consequently, if violent conduct had been identified, Romero would have been sent off.’
