Gabriel Martinelli feels he’s not Arsenal’s quickest player, and has instead given that accolade to teammate .
Martinelli has impressed since joining the north club from Brazilian side Ituano in 2019, especially in terms of his attacking intent.
The 20-year-old is always on the front foot, using his pace, trickery and dynamism to give opposition defenders a tough time.
Martinelli was asked on the whether he is the fastest player at , and if not, who is.
He replied: ‘No. I am [quick] but it’s not me.
‘I think it’s Nuno [Tavares]. Nuno is really quick.’
Tavares moved to the Gunners from Benfica last summer, but has been behind Kieran Tierney in the pecking order of left-backs at the club.
The 22-year-old got his chance recently when Tierney was ruled out for the season through injury, however, he has struggled while filling in for his teammate.
Arsenal’s chances of landing a finish in the top four and a return to the Champions League were dealt a blow after their loss to Tottenham on Thursday night.
