Tottenham Hotspur striker has been named the Premier League’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month for March 2022, his seventh such accolade.
As a result, he has now equalled former striker Sergio Aguero’s record for the most Player of the Month awards in the history of the league, having first claimed the prize in January 2015.
The England captain won the public vote for the award after scoring four and assisting two across four games for Spurs, whilst also becoming the Premier League’s all-time leading away goal scorer, a record previously held by .
He beat seven other very good nominees to claim the record-equalling award, namely his Spurs teammate Dejan Kulusevski, duo Kai Havertz and Trevoh Chalobah, Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Aston Villa’s Matty Cash.
Meanwhile, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta took home Manager of the Month and Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the Goal of the Month award for his first strike against Spurs in Manchester United’s 3-2 win at Old Trafford.
28-year-old Kane has been waiting to go level with Aguero for some time now, having last claimed a Player of the Month award all the way back in December 2017 but is now just one away from becoming the out-right leader in the field.
Behind the two strikers on the list is Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard with six, while forwards Ronaldo, Rooney and Robin van Persie are next with five.
