Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore believes lacks ambition if he does not push for a move to Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The captain has been the subject of two bids from the German giants this summer, the latest worth an initial £70m, plus add-ons.
Tottenham are expected to reject that second offer and would want a lot more money to be encouraged to sell their star player, despite Kane turning 30 this summer and only having one year left on his Spurs contract.
Despite his contract situation, Tottenham are happy to hold onto Kane, but Collymore reckons he should be pushing for a move to Bavaria.
Having spent his whole career at Spurs so far – other than a handful of loan moves – Kane is yet to pick up any silverware, and Collymore believes that he lacks ambition if he is happy to let that situation continue.
‘He’s got to go,’ the 52-year-old told . ‘He’s done everything he needs to do at Hotspur; there is nothing else left for him there now, and if he doesn’t push for a transfer then I am questioning his ambition.
‘If Kane continues to sit there quietly and make it easy for Daniel Levy to turn down £60 million – £70 million bids from a club like , who are always in with a chance of winning the Bundesliga and the , then surely he doesn’t really have any desire to leave Spurs.
‘If the notion is that he’s settled and he wants to stay in London, that to me shows a distinct lack of ambition. Let’s not forget – this is a world-class player who does not know what it feels like to lift a major trophy. Surely the time has come for Kane to be demanding silverware.
‘Considering football doesn’t wait for anybody if I were Kane, I would be doing all I can behind the scenes to force a move to Bayern Munich because it could very well be his last chance to win major domestic silverware.’
