Lionel Messi has scored 695 goals in his senior club career for Barcelona and PSG.

Messi’s is the most goals scored for a single club by a player in the history of football.

Messi has added to his goal record since arriving at French champions despite a largely underwhelming first season with the Parisians in 2021-22 which saw him score just 11 goals.

However, Messi has performed better this season and the Argentine has already managed 12 goals in all competitions.

Since making his professional debut in 2003, Messi has averaged 37.9 club goals a season, with his highest tally in a single season being the 73 goals he hit in 2011-12.

How many goals has Lionel Messi scored for Argentina?

Messi has so far scored 90 goals in 164 appearances for Argentina.

This makes him the record goalscorer in the history of the Argentina national football team.

In his 19 World Cup appearances across the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 editions, Messi has scored six goals.

Argentina were beaten in the 2014 World Cup final by Germany, before going in to lose the 2015 and 2016 Copa America finals.

As a result of the heartbreaking losses in the finals, Messi announced his international retirement in 2016.

However, he reversed his decision shortly afterwards and he finally got his hands on an international trophy by guiding Argentina to the 2021 Copa America title.
