Hull City owner Acun Ilicali has dismissed speculation linking the club with a move for Fenerbahce midfielder .
Former star Ozil left the Emirates Stadium in January 2021 after being frozen out of the first-team squad under Mikel Arteta.
The 33-year-old subsequently joined Fenerbahce on a free transfer, but last month, he was ‘suspended indefinitely’ from the Super Lig club’s squad.
Ozil reportedly had a bust-up with the team’s head coach Ismail Kartal after being taken off at half-time against Konyaspor.
Hull, and David Beckham’s MLS outfit Inter Miami, are among the teams to have been linked with the playmaker.
But Hull’s Turkish owner Ilicali has confirmed that Ozil will not be joining the Championship side.
‘No, they [Ozil and Ryan Babel, who had also been linked with Hull] are not coming,’ Ilicali told .
‘Mesut is happy in Turkey. He’s a very good friend of mine and if he’s happy in Turkey, why should I ask him to come to England again?
“He’s just gone from England to Turkey and is having a good life there with his family. I’m sure that he will recover his problems with the team.’
