fears for new signing if he is thrown into the side against on Sunday.

The former Real Madrid starlet

, Erik ten Hag was eager for the club to bring in another option at left-back.

Diogo Dalot was brought over from right-back to fill in that role during last Saturday’s victory over Nottingham Forest with the Portugal international likely to feature again in that position on Sunday against Arsenal.

Reguilon, who will wear the no15 shirt, has travelled back down to north London however and could be in line to make his debut against the Gunners at the Emirates.

Any role on Sunday would likely see the Spaniard come up against Bukayo Saka, who has started the season with two assists and a goal in three appearances having also scored home and away against United last season.

While Reguilon was drafted in to play an immediate role for United, former Arsenal forward Walcott believes Saka will relish coming up against the deadline day arrival.

‘Reguilon I am a little bit concerned about today if he plays,’ Walcott told Sky Sports.

‘Saka for me is one of the best wingers out there, the way he carries the ball, always positive and always wants to go with the ball.

‘I don’t want Saka to defend, if I’m a winger I don’t want to be defending, I want my centre-halves to be helping out with that so I can attack all day.’

Speaking on Friday, ten Hag confirmed he is ready to play Reguilon on Sunday despite his recent arrival. Ten Hag said: ‘Reguilon is here, he trained.’ Asked if he will be available to face Arsenal, the United boss said: ‘Yes.’

He continued: ‘He’s very experienced,” added Ten Hag. “Played for big clubs, played a lot of games in LaLiga and Premier League.

‘We had a problem with Shaw and Malacia and I think we responded very well to that emergency situation.’
