Liverpool’s summer signing is expected to miss Monday’s friendly against Greuther Furth after injuring his ankle in training.

The £60m arrival from RB Leipzig has already been on the pitch with the Reds this summer, starting the friendly win over Karlsruhe on Wednesday.

Manager has spoken of how pleased he is with the Hungarian and fellow new signing , but Szoboszlai’s progress will be briefly hampered due to injury.

report that the midfielder rolled his ankle in training on Saturday and will not play on Monday, although the injury is not thought to be serious.

Liverpool go to Singapore on Thursday for their next set of pre-season fixtures and Szoboszlai will be on that trip and is likely to take part in the friendlies.

The Hungary international has admitted that he has found pre-season at Liverpool tough as Klopp puts his players through their paces.

‘It was not easy,’ he said. ‘I came from a really good team in Leipzig and pre-season is hard everywhere but I never had three training sessions a day before in my life!’

Klopp, though, has been very pleased with the 22-year-old so far, and Mac Allister who arrived from Brighton earlier in the summer.

‘The best thing you can do as a new player is to not talk a lot and let your legs speak,’ Klopp said. ‘They are completely different players but it’s really nice to have them. Dom’s physique is just impressive, I’ve watched him on television and he’s grown in the last two years. A real athlete. Quick, technically really good, good overview, between the lines good.

‘Then you have Alexis who calms pretty much everything down in the best football way, has a super eye for situations. All the offensive players are like “oh my God” and licking their fingers for a pass from him. We are absolutely happy with the two boys.

‘The best thing about this group, no matter how the group changed over the years, it stayed a super open group. I’ve never had an easier team to come into than these boys, and you can see that helps the new boys obviously.’
