Inter Miami co-owner is targeting a move for former and midfielder James Rodriguez, according to reports.

Rodriguez’s unsuccessful spell at Goodison Park came to an end last year as he left the Toffees to join Qatari club Al-Rayyan.

The 30-year-old, who once claimed the Golden Boot at the 2014 for Colombia, could yet be on the move again.

report that Beckham’s Inter Miami have contacted Rodriguez over a potential switch to the MLS outfit.

The midfielder is said to be on a salary of £6.5million-a-year and would become the club’s highest-paid player.

Gonzalo Higuain is currently Inter Miami’s top earner, but the report states the striker is unsettled and could leave at the end of the season.

Phil Neville’s side are struggling in the MLS this season, picking up 10 points from nine games, which has left them down in 12th place out of 14 teams in the Eastern Conference.

Another high-profile player to have been linked with a switch to the MLS is Zlatan Ibrahimovich, who played in the league for LA Galaxy between 2018-19.

‘Maybe if I come back I’ll have my own club,’ said the AC Milan striker when quizzed by on a return to the MLS.

‘Where I go, I am the boss. So that will not change.’
