have been told they must pay €50m [£41m] to sign Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries this summer.
The Dutchman is a target for , who wants competition for Reece James at right-back.
Cesar Azpilicueta could be allowed to join but regardless of the Spaniard’s future, Tuchel feels the side needs freshening up at right wing-back.
Dumfries, a Netherlands international, joined Inter just 12 months ago for a fee of around £13m from PSV Eindhoven and he provided five goals and five assists in his debut campaign in Italy.
That’s seen Dumfries’ valuation sky-rocket and though Inter are open to allowing him to leave the San Siro, says the club won’t consider a sell below their £41m asking price.
Chelsea have reportedly have one bid turned down for Dumfries already, with reports claiming Inter knocked back an offer of around £20.5m.
The Blues have already agreed personal terms with the right-back and he stands to significantly increase his salary if he earns a move to Stamford Bridge.
It comes as the Blues try to prise Wesley Fofana away from Leicester City, with the Foxes demanding £80m for the Frenchman.
Fofana, 24, has been identified as a priority target after Jules Kounde opted to join Barcelona.
