Inter Milan want £43million to part with this summer as prepare an opening offer for the goalkeeeper.

The Cameroon international is believed to be United’s first choice to replace .

The Spaniard is out of contract on July 1st and he’s no closer to signing an extension, despite verbally agreeing a new deal.

De Gea’s form nosedived towards the end of the campaign and United want him to agree to significantly reduced terms in order to stay at the club.

Erik ten Hag has provided no guarantee that De Gea will remain as first choice if he does sign a new deal.

Onana spent two seasons under Ten Hag at Ajax and the goalkeeper is comfortable with the ball at his feet, which was De Gea’s main weakness last term.

According to Gianluca DI Marzio, Inter are holding out for a fee of around £43m for the Cameroonian.

That would be an acceptable fee for United, who have financial constraints this summer.

De Gea has offers on the table from Saudi Arabia and should he leave, his final appearance after 12 years at United would be the FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

The Spaniard was culpable for Ilkay Gundogan’s second goal at Wembley, when he failed to keep out a tame effort.
