is not convinced a striker in the mould of would improve Arsenal.

The star has in 40 appearances – 32 coming in the Premier League – in his first season in English football,

Five in his last three league appearances have helped ’s side keep the heat on league leaders Arsenal,

Arsenal have scored only four less than City in the league this season with the goals shared out amongst Mikel Arteta’s side.

Gabriel Martinelli leads the scoring charts with 14 in all competitions with Bukayo Saka (13) and Martin Odegaard (11) also hitting double figures, while strikers Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nektiah have nine each.

And while blown away by Haaland’s form in front of goal, Arsenal legend Wright suggests someone like Norwegian could ‘mess up the equilibrium’ in the Gunners attack.

‘Progress the ball from the back… Thomas Partey… Odegaard… Saka… (Leandro) Trossard… Martinelli… (Gabriel) Jesus… so many different ways to hurt a team,’ Wright told .

‘As much as I was really pleased to be somebody that was at the time the main goalscorer, and you do want somebody who’s scoring between 15 and 25 league goals a season, I believe that when you are able to spread the goals around, people can’t plan for it.

‘Of course, you look at Erling Haaland. Magnificent. Amazing what he’s doing and good luck to him.

‘But would I change what we’re doing for somebody who’s scoring goals like that? I don’t know.

‘It may mess up the equilibrium of what’s going on. I’m not sure.’

Arsenal can extend their lead to seven points if they beat the league’s bottom side Southampton on Friday night with City in FA Cup semi-final action this weekend.

City will have two games in hand by the time the two teams meet on Thursday 27 April in what is being widely regarded as a title-deciding clash at the Etihad Stadium.
