Kevin De Bruyne said he had a ‘pretty nice’ evening as he scored four goals in ’s 5-1 win at Wolves, although he was disappointed he didn’t make it five.

The Belgian was in stunning form at Molineux, scoring his side’s first four goals, the first three of which were with his ‘weaker’ left foot.

This is the 30-year-old’s most prolific season for City, taking his tally to 15 in the Premier League and 19 in all competitions.

However, it irked him that a late strike hit the post and didn’t make it five for him on an amazing evening.

‘Yeah, pretty nice,’ De Bruyne told of his night out in Wolverhampton.

‘When you score four goals it’s always something special, but it should have been five to be honest.

‘I think we played well, except a couple of counters in the first half, I think we controlled the game really well and we could have scored more.

‘To do that against a Wolves team that’s defensively really sound, is impressive.’

Asked which of his goals was his favourite, De Bruyne picked out his third, which saw him lash a shot into the corner from outside the box.

‘I think the third one. I think that strike is the cleanest,’ he said.

‘I hit it really hard in the corner, out of them that is the purest, I would say.’

City boss Pep Guardiola was understandably delighted with his world class talent, describing De Bruyne as his ‘key man’ at the business end of the season.

‘He’s playing the last two or three months, especially in the Premier League has been outstanding, Champions League as well,’ said Guardiola.

‘He’s been our key man in the last part of the season.’
