Mikel Arteta admits he has mistreated striker Eddie Nketiah after the forward scored twice in a 4-2 win against at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The Gunners kickstarted their top four hopes with a dramatic win against their rivals in west London, which was aided by two goals from Nketiah.

The forward was starting in place of , who was only fit enough for a place on the Gunners’ bench after recovering from injury.

Nketiah is out of contract at the end of the season and he’s minded to leave the club, given he had made just one Premier League start before last night.

‘If there is one player that I have been unfair with I think it’s him,’ said Arteta.

‘He has given me every right to do something different, and if Eddie doesn’t play more, it’s my fault and because as a manager I missed something or I haven’t had the courage to play him more.

‘Today he showed me more how wrong I was.’

Arsenal’s win means they’re now level on points with rivals Tottenham heading into the final six matches of the season.

The two face one another on May 12th at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which could decide fourth spot.
