’s says he is looking forward to seeing the new ideas of incoming manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag, 52, takes over at United this summer and will try to relaunch a club in a state of turmoil with the Red Devils outside the top-four and five years without a trophy.

Since joining from Borussia Dortmund last year, Sancho has endured a difficult first campaign at Old Trafford, scoring just five goals this term.

Speaking to the Premier Productions, the winger revealed he is awaiting a fresh start under Ten Hag next season with bated breath.

He said: ‘To start again fresh, with a new manager coming in, we’re looking forward to seeing what his ideas and plans for the team are.

‘You only have to think positively. My career is only getting started and, hopefully, it will take off soon. This has been a difficult season, especially being a Manchester United player, with what the club has achieved over the years.

‘United is known for winning trophies and being up there with the best. This season has been a difficult one for all of us, but I think we still have to show belief again.’

The signing of Sancho along with Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo last summer were supposed to launch United towards a title challenge this season.

However, the former two have failed to live up to the billing with Sancho particularly disappointing having been involved in 35 goals for Dortmund last year.

When he arrives from Ajax, one of Ten Hag’s priorities will be to get the best out of the underperformers like Sancho and Varane.

The Dutchman is expected to bring players in this summer, however, he will reportedly have a limited budget to work with and may need to sell in order to raise funds.

The likes of Declan Rice, Frenkie de Jong and Harry Kane have all been rumoured as possible targets.

But without Champions League football next term, United will find it harder to attract the big-name signings.
