Joao Felix responds to Manchester United approach after rumoured £110m bid

forward Joao Felix insists he was not made aware of any approach from during the summer transfer window.

Last month, reports in Spain claimed that United had submitted a €130 million (£110m) offer for the 22-year-old but the bid was rejected by Atletico Madrid.

United ended up agreeing an £85m deal with to sign , but Erik ten Hag was keen on bolstering his attacking options even more before the window closed.

But when asked about United’s move in an interview with , Felix said: ‘Nothing came to me.

‘The presidents deal with these things. I’m here.

‘I have the feeling that I have to do everything to help the club and the team. I try to prove that and if my colleagues see me as a leader, the better. This way we are more connected and we will enjoy much more.’

Felix came up against United in the Champions League last season and revealed before the tie that he had spoken to Portugal teammate Bruno Fernandes.

‘It is very good to play against your friends,’ Felix told .

‘It is always fun, like we are playing in the garden. With Bruno, we exchanged messages when the draw was made.

‘Bruno is a very, very good player. It is very easy to play with him. When he has the ball, he always chooses the best option, to give you a chance to score. That is why he gets a lot of assists.

‘Cristiano is a role model for all of us in the national team, so he gives us a lot of good advice, and we like to listen.’
