‘He may want to go to America, but that’s up to him. He’s been fantastic over the years, one of the best ever to play. It’s just a question of whether he thinks he has enough to offer.

‘He won’t go to Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Manchester City.’

Before Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford last summer, it was reported that Pep Guardiola tried to sign him for Manchester City.

Since coming back to the Premier League, he has scored goals but has been criticised for his lack of pressing.

As a result, United have been linked with a move for the likes of Benfica’s Darwin Nunez this summer.
