Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has named who he thinks are the best five players in world football right now.
The midfielder was talking to on BT Sport, who asked the 31-year-old to pick an all-star 5-a-side team, excluding a goalkeeper, of the best players in world football today.
This was as part of the preview for Sunday’s all-important clash between Liverpool and which could decide the eventual winner of this season’s Premier League.
And Henderson included three players who could be involved in that game in his dream side, with his team in full being Liverpool’s and , City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.
His choices won’t really come as a surprise to anyone, with each player considered to be one of if not the best in their respective positions.
It remains to be seen if any of Henderson, Van Dijk, Salah or De Bruyne will have a decisive impact during Sunday’s game.
The Reds travel to the Etihad just one point behind the Citizens with just eight games left in the season and while both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola deny it, this game could well be the one that determines who becomes the champions of England.
