Jorginho is attracting interest from Barcelona, with his contract at Stamford Bridge expiring next year, but his agent says he is ‘prioritising’ the Blues.

The 30-year-old has been a key part of the team at Stamford Bridge since he was brought to the club by , remaining a central part of the side under , and now .

The contract he signed when he arrived in 2018 is coming to an end at the end of the season and that has alerted Barcelona who would be keen to bring him to the Camp Nou on a free transfer.

Given that he has played every game so far under the management of Potter, the new Chelsea boss is likely to want to keep hold of the Italian international beyond this campaign.

The midfielder’s agent says his client’s priority is Chelsea, but did hint that he has held talks with Barcelona over his future.

‘I work in football, I have been to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia, but also in other parts such as Lyon,’ Joao Santos told TuttoMercatoWeb. ‘I’m Jorginho’s agent, I may have talked about him but also about others…’

‘We are due [to expire] in June. We prioritise Chelsea and we are moving towards it. Another priority for Jorginho is to do well with the national team.’

It is not entirely clear whether Santos meant he and his client were moving towards a new Chelsea contract or towards the end of his current deal.

If he can be tempted to Barcelona, then he will be able to make a pre-contract agreement with them in January to move for free in the summer.
