Former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique says he would ‘love’ the Reds to sign ’s Conor Gallagher.

Since joining on-loan from last summer, Gallagher has been a revelation at Selhurst Park and has helped guide Patrick Vieira’s side to the semi-finals this season.

Enrique, who enjoyed a five-year spell at Anfield between 2011 and 2016, believes the 22-year-old would be a great addition to ’s squad.

In a Twitter post, the Spaniard wrote: ‘I will love Gallagher at LFC . What a player. Love his quality and the intensity. It will fit perfect in Klopp’s style of play.’

Gallagher is due to head back to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel saying that he plans to use the talented youngster next term.

However, with an array of midfield talent already at Chelsea, many believe Gallagher would be better served moving on from west London so that his progress is not stunted.

Former Blues striker Tony Cascarino agrees with Enrique that Gallagher would be a good signing for Liverpool in the summer because of his ability to get goals and assists.

He told: ‘Conor Gallagher is an outstanding attacking midfielder who always looks like he’s going to get a goal or make an assist.

‘I like him because I don’t think there are too many of his type around.

‘Liverpool, for me, if they had a player like that as well adding him behind their front three – with his ability to get goals.

‘Chelsea would never sell him to Liverpool, but they’d do really well with him.

‘Conor Gallagher will get goals. Whether or not he will get his chance at Chelsea, I don’t know.’

This season, Gallagher has scored eight goals in 26 Premier League appearances for Palace.
