Sevilla head coach Julen Lopetegui insists he will remain at the Spanish club following ’s interest.
United are working on appointing their long-term successor to and already have a shortlist of candidates they wish to speak to.
head coach Erik ten Hag was interviewed last week, while United are also keen on speaking with Paris Saint-Germain boss and Spain head coach Luis Enrique.
Lopetegui, who guided Sevilla to victory in the Europa League in 2020, is also believed to be on United’s radar.
But in an interview with El Chiringuito, Lopetegui made it clear that he wants to remain in La Liga.
When asked if Sevilla supporters can expect him to see him in the dugout next season, Lopetegui replied with a smile: ‘I do not have any doubt.’
In a separate interview about his future with ABC de Sevilla, Lopetegui said: ‘I have said it many times and I say it now, I am where I want to be, at Sevilla.
‘I’m happy. Here I can develop my work in the best possible way.
‘It is so, without a doubt. From then on, in football no one ever knows where he might be, because this goes around a lot, but I have no doubts.
‘My will is firm. I am where I really want to be.’
