masterminded ’s superb goal in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over on Monday night, and joked that he is claiming the for himself.

It was a great night at the King Power for the Reds as they made it seven wins on the spin thanks to a brace from Curtis Jones and the Alexander-Arnold beauty.

Mohamed Salah took a free-kick by rolling the ball backwards and into the 24-year-old’s path, with the England man whipping it into the top corner.

It was not the first time we have seen the full-back do it, as the same move was pulled off against Chelsea four years ago, while it came close to working more recently but the shot hit Jordan Henderson en route to the top corner.

The goal-scorer admitted that it was his boss that had suggested giving the routine another whirl against the Foxes.

‘It think he will take credit, but I’m the one who had to hit the ball!’ said Alexander-Arnold of his boss. ‘No, he spoke to us and said let’s try it again!

‘We haven’t done that in a while, I think we took them by surprise. It was a well-worked goal.’

Klopp would like to see the move pulled off more often, given the ability of Alexander-Arnold, but is happy to take the credit for hit.

‘Third goal, what a wonderful routine. Love it. Good win, super important for us,’ said the German.

‘That’s the best free-kick routine we have. The most successful. We should have scored three like that, but we defended it ourselves. I don’t mention the name, but everyone can watch it on YouTube.

‘Now we can take it direct or roll it both sides so it must be a bit more likely we score from these situations. We have to use it more often.

‘I take it, by the way, I said already that’s my goal, because if I don’t tell him he will not do it.’
