Liverpool boss has confirmed that Fabinho is on course to return to fitness for the final against next Saturday.
The Brazilian was forced off just half an hour into the final victory against Chelsea with a hamstring injury and there were fears that he would miss the Paris showpiece.
Fabinho’s been an instrumental part of Liverpool’s season so far and he was not named in today’s squad to take on Wolves, who the Reds must beat to have any chance of winning the Premier League title.
However, Klopp has confirmed that the midfielder will return to full training next week and is already doing some light training.
‘Fabinho is training but not with us,’ said Klopp.
‘He will at the beginning of next week.’
Fabinho is not the only casualty from the win against Chelsea, with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah having to accept places on the bench today after they sustained injuries at Wembley.
Liverpool are hoping that former captain Steven Gerrard can do them a favour at the Etihad and take points from Manchester City, who have a one-point lead on Liverpool going into the final game of the season.
