Liverpool manager says there is a chance Trent Alexander-Arnold could return for the Reds ahead of tomorrow’s lunchtime kick-off against .

Alexander-Arnold, who missed England’s matches against Switzerland and Ivory Coast, has been nursing a hamstring injury he picked up just before the international break following Liverpool’s 2-0 victory at .

Hamstring injuries usually take three weeks to heal but Klopp, speaking in a press conference today, believes the right-back could come back to the first-team slightly ahead of schedule.

‘Trent trained yesterday in parts and is in full training today,’ Klopp said. ‘We will see what we do with that. Trent wanted to play for England but he couldn’t and wanted to go.

‘The scans showed he could not go anywhere but sometimes injuries, thank God, are not that serious. That you are out for five to six weeks and it is two to three weeks.

‘It is tight for tomorrow but it’s possible from what I hear. He has had intense sessions with rehab team so physically he should be fine. Now I have to make a decision about rhythm.’

Klopp would be pleased to have Alexander-Arnold, his first choice right-back, available to him again as his team get ready to face a Watford side who, in 18th place, are fighting to stay in the league and will be buoyed by their recent win over Southampton.

‘Watford won the last game,’ said Klopp. ‘They smell the chance to stay in the league. They have a very experienced manager. Talented players. They don’t have a lot of points because of the talent in this league.

‘We need to make the best 12.30pm atmosphere ever. If you cannot shout or sing, stay at home and give your ticket to somebody else. The boys came back from all over the world and played different systems. We only played one session and we need each voice to face this Watford team.’

Liverpool will be looking to keep the pressure on league leaders Manchester City, who they sit a point behind in second place.
