Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow would jump at the chance to join this summer but the Dutch champions have emphatically told the side he is not for sale.
Amid huge uncertainty over goalkeeping options at Old Trafford, United are interested in signing the Netherlands international.
While , is also an admirer of Bijlow with United making contact over a summer move, report.
report the 25-year-old ‘would love’ to join United, even if David de Gea remains in Manchester.
but talks to extend his stay are expected to resume early next week.
While Bijlow is keen on the move, he will not attempt to force a move away and will continue to act professionally as long as Feyenoord’s stance remains the same.
The Dutch giants are determined to hold onto their no1 and are already discussing an improved contract with his agent Ali Dursun.
Feyenoord boss Arne Slot, who recently turned down the chance to take over at Tottenham, only has two goalkeepers at his disposal in Bijlow and Timon Wellenreuther, also a factor in the club’s plan to turn away any interest.
United have been in discussions with de Gea over a new contract on vastly reduced terms since the start of the year.
It emerged this week de Gea agreed to that new deal on a reduced salary, only for United to back out of the proposal. United then submitted a new offer with an even lower salary which has not been signed.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed United’s plans to sign Cameroon international Onana and expects an official offer from the club in the coming days.
‘Manchester United confirmed to us that they are interested in Andre Onana’ Marotta said.
‘We are waiting for an official proposal in the next days, then we will decide how to react right after.’
