appeared emotional as he made his way around the Stamford Bridge pitch as a player for what could be the final time on Sunday.

The playmaker was ruled out of the final day against Newcastle through injury but he participated in the lap of honour following the 1-1 draw.

Mount’s future has come under increased scrutiny in the last fortnight, with said to be leading the race for the midfielder.

The 24-year-old has a year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge and he’s rejected the club’s last two proposals.

Mount feels the offers are well below what other players are receiving and there is a feeling from Chelsea’s side that selling the academy product could significantly ease their Financial Fair Play worries.

The midfielder is now said to be leaning towards moving to Old Trafford and he appeared emotional during the side’s lap of honour at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Mount was comforted by Frank Lampard as he took in the applause of those that remained in the stadium after the draw against the Magpies.

Conor Gallagher and Ben Chilwell both put their arm around Mount, perhaps knowing that the midfielder could soon be on his way.

In a further twist, Mount made his way back out to the Stamford Bridge pitch once the fans had exited.

It’s possible he wanted to take in his surroundings for a final time, given he came through the academy and dreamed of playing at Stamford Bridge as a Chelsea player.
