Leeds United have set a £60million asking price for Raphinha after turning down an opening bid from for the Brazilian.

The Gunners had an initial offer rejected by the Yorkshire club out of hand, with Leeds deeming the bid to be significantly below their valuation of the Brazil international.

The 25-year-old is keen on leaving Elland Road, particularly after the departure of Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds are sympathetic to his desire to play European football but they want a handsome profit on the £17m they paid Rennes for Raphinha’s services in 2020.

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds want around £60m for Raphinha and that’s significantly more than the opening bid made by Arsenal.

The winger is said to favour a move to Chelsea or Real Madrid but the Spaniards are unlikely to be willing to pay Leeds’ asking price.

Raphinha is represented by the same agent as Arsenal new boy Fabio Vieira, who joined the club in a £34m deal from Porto on Monday.

The Gunners have already held extensive talks with the Brazilian’s representatives but Leeds are under no pressure to sell given the winger is under contract until 2024.
