are set to appoint Jesse Marsch as their new manager, replacing the dismissed , according to reports.
The Foxes are hiring a new boss after sacking Rodgers last weekend with the team languishing in the relegation zone with just nine to play.
18 defeats in 29 league matches is a woefully disappointing return for the former Premier League champions and the Northern Irishman paid the price after a home defeat to Aston Villa.
There were few clear candidates to replace Rodgers, with former Foxes boss Martin O’Neill even touted as a candidate, but the club has turned to the American, according to .
Marsch was sacked as Leeds manager in February with the Yorkshire club 17th in the table and struggling.
His replacement, Javi Gracia, has led Leeds up to 13th in the division, although they remain just two points above the relegation zone in an almighty scrap to avoid the drop.
The former RB Leipzig boss did keep Leeds up last season, scraping through on the last day of the campaign, and Leicester are hoping he can achieve the same this time around, although preferably less dramatically.
The Telegraph report suggests Marsch will be offered a three-year contract, plus the remaining few games of this season, which would be quite a commitment to a manager coming into a relegation battle.
Southampton were also impressed with the American as they tried to appoint him earlier this season after sacking Nathan Jones, but did not offer him a contract he was willing to accept.
