Liverpool have moved to ease their injury woes by bringing physio Christopher Rohrbeck back to the club to give them a boost ahead of the final and climax of the Premier League season.

After a remarkable injury-free run, the Reds have been hit with a few problems to key players over the last week.

First, Fabinho limped out of the Premier League win over last week with a hamstring problem and had to sit out of Saturday’s final.

Then in the Wembley showpiece – in which the Reds beat on penalties – both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk had to be substituted, the former with a groin problem and the latter a knee issue.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are still fighting for the Premier League title, with a trip to Southampton on Tuesday and clash with Wolves on Sunday to come, before they meet Real Madrid in the Champions League final on 28 May.

With those huge games to come they have moved to bring Rohrbeck back to the club to help get their star players back to fitness.

Rohrbeck joined Liverpool from Mainz in 2017 but then moved back to the German club in 2020, where he has been since.

However, report that a deal has been agreed to bring him back to Anfield with immediate effect, specifically to work with Salah and Van Dijk, who he worked closely with during his first stint at the club.

The German has not made the move just yet, but the report describes his return as ‘imminent’ and Klopp will be hoping he has an instant impact.

Salah, Van Dijk and Fabinho are all expected to miss out on the trip to Southampton on Tuesday, but will be aiming for the Champions League final as realistic return dates.

They are the only three Reds stars set to miss Tuesday night’s game, so it is not quite an injury crisis, but Klopp will be desperate to have them all back for the clash with Real Madrid next week.
