Alisson insists Liverpool will be going up against ‘the best team in the world right now’ when they face in Saturday’s semi-final.

The Premier League title rivals put on a show in an exciting 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium last week, while their other meeting in England’s top flight earlier this season also ended 2-2.

But there will be a winner at Wembley this weekend, with a place in the FA Cup final up for grabs.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has paid ’s side the ultimate compliment ahead of this weekend’s big clash.

‘It’s amazing if you are there, because you are performing well, you are in a top level,’ Alisson told Liverpool’s website.

‘I see Man City as one of the biggest teams in the world – maybe the best football team in the world right now. It’s a huge challenge for us and for them.

‘We are in a good situation in this season, particularly because we put ourselves there and getting the results and having an open race for the title because of the things that we did so far.

‘Being in this position, having a big game mixed with the passion of all the world, is something that you want as a top-level player.

‘So, I’m really happy to be here in this moment.’

On playing a semi-final at Wembley, Alisson added: ‘Now that I arrive here and we played that final at Wembley already, I could feel that energy.

‘I played with the national team at Wembley before but I spoke with the guys and the energy wasn’t the same, obviously it was only a friendly with the national team.

‘But a final or a semi-final at Wembley is something remarkable, and achieving that for us is something really nice as a player in terms of [your] career.

‘But we want more, we want a title and to go to the final. We will fight for that.’
