Liverpool winger says he is the ‘best’ in the world in his position, insisting his ‘numbers’ back up his claim.
The Egypt international has scored 22 league goals this season and is leading the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, which he has already won twice before.
Last month, Salah also picked up the  Writers’ Association’s Footballer of the Year award for a second time.
The 29-year-old has played a vital role in the recent success of ’s side, helping fire them to glory in 2019, and the Premier League title a year later.
This season, the Reds are chasing an unprecedented quadruple after winning the Carabao Cup, still being in contention for the league, and in FA Cup and Champions League finals.
On an individual basis, Salah has pointed to his sublime goal record to underline why he excels above his rivals.
‘If you compare me with any player in my position, not only in my team but in the world, you will find that I am the best,’ Salah told .
‘I always focus on my work and do my best and my numbers are the best proof of my words.
‘I like to always create a new challenge for me, to work in a different way and to make a difference and that is my duty.’
Salah’s future at Liverpool is still up in the air, with the forward’s current contract set to expire in 2023.
Fresh terms are yet to have been agreed, and the player recently admitted he ‘doesn’t know’ whether he will put pen to paper on a new deal.
‘I don’t know…’ he told FourFourTwo last month. ‘I have one year left. I think the fans know what I want, but in the contract it’s not everything about the money at all. So I don’t know, I can’t tell you exactly. I have one year left and the fans know what I want.’
