Davide Frattesi sounds set for a summer move to after Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali provided a major hint over the midfielder’s future.

The 23-year-old has been linked with both and Brighton after his second succssive hugely impressive season with Sassuolo.

Frattesi, who spent his youth career with Lazio and Roma before moving to Sassuolo in 2017, played for Italy’s age group teams from Under-17 to Under-21 before making his senior debut last year and winning four caps in total so far.

He has played in all 36 of Sassuolo’s Serie A games so far this season, starting 35 of them, and scoring seven goals.

His performances have caught the eye in England and Carnevali sounds like the club are ready to accept an offer for him from the Premier League in the near future.

The Sassuolo CEO said: ‘I can reveal that the best opportunity for Davide Frattesi is now coming from a Premier League club. I suggest Davide to learn English as soon as possible.’

The midfielder has also been linked with a move to Roma, but it seems that the English clubs have moved ahead of Jose Mourinho’s side in the race for his signature.

Sassuolo manager Alessio Dionisi admitted in January that Frattesi would certainly move on if he continued to improve as he had been doing.

‘I hope that Frattesi can become the player everyone wants, but nobody can get for some reason,’ he said five months ago.

‘For me Davide can do even better than what he did in the first 15 games because he did many good things for us but he still hasn’t found the continuity that I recognize in him and that I know he can give.”

‘So, these next six months must be used to improve and if he will be able to improve then I know he will take the next step and join another team. I’m confident Davide’s chapter at Sassuolo is not over yet.’
