captain has rejected a loan move to Inter Milan, according to reports.
Maguire has struggled for game time at Old Trafford since the arrival of Dutch manager Erik ten Hag in the summer.
The 29-year-old centre-back, a key player for England, has made just 16 appearances this term and has knocked up only 801 minutes on the pitch.
According to the , Maguire had the opportunity to join Italian side Inter Milan on loan in the January transfer window, but the defender snubbed their approach.
Maguire is under contract until 2025, with the option of a further year, but he will look to leave United in the summer if cannot regain his place in the side.
Ten Hag has mostly favoured the centre-back pairing of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez but gave Maguire a full 90 minutes in the 3-1 victory over Championship side Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Maguire, who has made a total of 160 appearances for United since making his £80m move from Leicester City in 2019, recently spoke about his future at the club and said: ‘I’m 29 and haven’t really been in this position in my career before.
‘I don’t want to get used to it, but it is part and parcel of football. I’m pushing, training well, and when chance comes, I need to take it.’
Maguire, who was also linked with a loan move to West Ham, has been ‘disrespected’ by Ten Hag and should leave United, according to Rio Ferdinand.
‘If you’re him you have to leave now,’ Ferdinand said of Maguire on earlier this month.
‘Luke Shaw [was] playing centre-back instead of him. That’s like me going back after the , playing well, everyone saying he’s done really well, and Patrice Evra is playing centre-back.
‘I’d want to strangle Patrice! I would’ve smashed Patrice in training to make sure he’s not available, and I’d be going to the manager and saying, ‘are you taking the piss out of me, boss?’. I’d have walked straight into the manager’s office and said, ‘you’re disrespecting me’.
‘Harry Maguire’s got to move. I think he stays because of the games and they can’t get someone else in. He plays in the cup games.’
