Manchester United players ‘angry’ with Marcus Rashford following nightclub incident

has encountered the wrath of his teammates who are ‘angry’ over his lack of discipline.

The international has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons over the past week after he missed training and United’s win at Newport County through illness.

Rashford called in sick ahead of Friday training, however it emerged .

A visibly furious Erik ten Hag vowed to deal with his player ‘internally’ and .

It is said that the forward has been fined two weeks’ wages – around £650,000 – and on Monday night :

‘Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed.’

Rashford is in contention to play in United’s next game on Thursday at Wolves, but while the club want to move on from the matter, the rest of the squad may not be so forgiving.

The claim the Red Devils are ‘angry’ with the 26-year-old’s behaviourand ‘unhappy’ that he would do such a thing, especially before an FA Cup match given it is the only trophy the side can realistically win this season.

It is said that: ‘The players were told he was too ill to train, and then it came out that he’d been in the nightclub. They couldn’t believe that he would do that given the situation the club is in.’

The decision to allow Rashford to play against Wolves has also been questioned given how former United players like Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo were suspended for at least a game because of disciplinary issues.

has been among the pundits critical of the forward, saying on the podcast: ‘He thinks he’s untouchable. This hasn’t been the first time where he’s had a misdemeanour. It’s been continuous.

‘He has no respect for the manager and no respect for his teammates. That’s the bottom line.

‘He’s probably thinking he is going to outlast Ten Hag anyway but he’s out of control as far as I can see.’
