kept their hopes alive with a dramatic 1-0 win over Copenhagen on Tuesday night – from along the way.

Having with a little under twenty minutes left on the clock, United were staring into the Champions League abyss when Scott McTominay was penalised for a high foot in the box in the dying embers of the game.

Jordan Larsson stepped up for the Danish champions but his, who ensured the three points remained in Manchester in what was an emotional night at Old Trafford following .

And soon after Onana’s vital intervention, footage emerged of Garnacho appearing to scuff up the penalty spot with both feet in the build-up to the kick, whilst referee Marco Guida was distracted in the face of protests from other United players.

The Argentine’s sneaky antics did no go unnoticed by former Arsenal player , who was covering the game for Swedish broadcaster TV4 Play.

Kallstrom, who made a handful of appearances for the Gunners on loan from Spartak Moscow in 2014, said: ‘What an ugly type,’ as reported by .

‘Ahh, I don’t know… That’s so childish. It’s such a baby level.’

Host Olof Lundh responded by suggesting Garnacho should be held responsible for his actions, saying: ‘This is the kind of thing you want to be able to punish afterwards.’

It’s safe to say Copenhagen captain Victor Claesson was also not impressed with the behaviour on display from one of his opponents, but he conceded he does not believe Garnacho’s actions played any part in the spurned penalty.

‘It’s unsportsmanlike. It’s not something I stand for or would do, but if he’s done it, he’s done it,’ Claesson told Bold.dk.

‘I don’t think that was what decided whether he missed or scored.’

Manchester United fans, unsurprisingly, took a different view to penalty spot gate.

‘GARNACHO WHERE DO YOU WANT YOUR STATUE?’ one fan quipped on X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘I can’t lie I rate this from Garnacho,’ another added. ‘Oh dear Garnacho, I’ll rate you for the rest of my life,’ was another fan’s humorous take on proceedings.

Garnacho could well be in for a frosty reception when Erik ten Hag takes his charges to Copenhagen in two weeks time.

United are currently sat in third place in their Champions League group, one point behind Galatasaray, who they play in Istanbul on November 29.
