singled out Antony for the ‘clever’ role he played in ’s win against Brentford.
United got back to winning ways in the Premier League for the first time since February with 1-0 win against the Bees at Old Trafford.
Rashford was once against the matchwinner as the forward scored his 28th goal of the season to see off Thomas Frank’s side.
The victory was well deserved, particularly after an impressive opening 45 minutes from the home side.
The goal came about when Antony, who retrieved the ball following a cleared corner, clipped a cute pass over the Brentford defence which Marcel Sabitzer nodded down for Rashford to hit home.
The Brazilian has been heavily criticised during his debut campaign at Old Trafford and he has just one assist to his name.
‘The main was to win, we played much better football and better out of possession,’ Rashford told the BBC.
‘The type of performance you can build on. It wasn’t easy or simple but very happy with the three points.
‘They are difficult to break down, they defend well in a block of five or six players and you have to wait for openings. It’s a very clever pass from Antony and it ends up a simple goal but it was quite tough to break them down.’
The goal means Rashford is level with Bruno Fernandes and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the highest scoring in a single season since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
United face Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday, where another goal from Rashford will take the forward clear of those two.
Rashford admits he’s enjoying his football but says it’s more important that the team wins.
‘I’m enjoying myself, the main aim for me is just to keep trying to win football matches for the club and try and get as deep into the season as we can,’ he said.
‘We need to try and get as many points as we can. We know the two teams at the top are running away with it a little bit but it’s important for us and our own growth and development to keep winning games and see how many points we can finish on at the end of the season.’
